About Chase and Robert Kirkham

Chase and Robert KirkhamAfter working at a shoe repair shop and various upholstery furniture & manufacturing companies in the 1950’s, Robert Kirkham lived his dream by starting his own upholstery business in 1959. He rented a stall for $25.00 a month at the service station located at 95 W. Main, in American Fork. In 1963, he built the shop where the business still resides today. Robert knew the most important part of his business was to manufacture quality products, looking at each project as if it were his own. He built his reputation of quality for a fair price.

Robert raised his family in this business, teaching his children the value of hard work and perserverance. His youngest son, Chase, showed a talent in upholstery as a young boy sewing his own footballs and pulling staples. He started working for his father as a teenager and found a love for working with his hands and finding pride in each project he took on. Father and son worked side by side for many years finding new ways to improve the business and stay current on the ever changing industry.

Chase began managing the shop in 2003. Their dream was that the business would continue to thrive and in 2007 Robert sold the business to his son Chase.

Kirkham Upholstery continues to innovate, meeting new demands for creative and customized work at the highest quality possible.

They look forward to serving the public for another 50 years.
